PLLCs (Professional Service Limited Liability Companies) are the most popular business entity amongst those who practice law in New York. A New York licensed attorney is one who has received a degree of Juris Doctor and is admitted to practice by one of the four Appellate Divisions of the Supreme Court of the State of New York. Formation of a New York PLLC involves registering your PLLC with the New York Department of Education, Office of the Professions and the New York Department of State.
